America’s Second Harvest-The Nation’s Food Bank Network is the nation’s largest charitable hunger-relief organization. They are a network of over 200 member food banks and food rescue organization serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

They secure and distribute nearly 200 billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually.

Their mission is to create a hunger free America.

“The Threadheads are the denizens of the chat board on the website of the New Orleans Jazz and heritage Festival. Unted by love of music, food, and all things New Orleans, this group of folks from New Orleans, from around the U.S. and Canada, and from overseas formed a true online community. Although the fest runs for just 10 days a year every spring, the group began to keep the chat going all year round.”

Check out heir website for all that they do for New Orleans besides just virtually chatting into the wee hours of the night. Their annual party or Patry as they lovingly call it, raised over$6,000 last year for the New Orleans Musician’s Clinic. This year they are continuing their tradition of giving back to New Orleans.
Pet de Kat Krewe
“The Pet de Kat Krewe is a loosely disorganized, professional audience. The Pet de Kat Krewe is made up of music fanatics who gather in New Orleans for Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest and many other occasions. The mission of the Pet de Kat Krewe is Seek out Festivals, Support Live Music, and Have FUN!”
